I’m really having a bad run of luck on eBay! I just won an item at auction last week from harry1543 (email@example.com) and immediately paid via PayPal. I received an eBay message from the seller on Sunday and he told me that it sold too cheaply. He also got sort of nasty saying that he had tried to call twice on Friday and that I had hung up on him. A direct quote:
“a word of advise ; you should have not hung up on me ”
Sounds ominous, eh? Anyway, I checked my call logs and he called twice on Friday when no one was home and hung up. He did not leave a voicemail. No one hung up on him.
Anyway, *I* called *HIM* on Sunday and he said that he had made a mistake by not putting a reserve on his auction. He then tried to get me to pay more money for the item that I’d just won. I told him I wasn’t interested and to refund my money. To his credit, he refunded me within a couple of hours. Regardless, it was a hassle. I would avoid doing business with harry1543 (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Since eBay won’t let a seller leave negative feedback for non-payment, I’m posting this in case anyone googles this user. I sold an item to shalendramrlover12 (email@example.com). After 2 days i still had not received payment or any communication despite sending a couple of messages. I opened a non-payment case with eBay. I waited 5 days and the user still had not responded, so I got my fees refunded. However, I’m still going to have to re-list my item and wait for this auction to end, etc. Do not do business with shalendramrlover12 (firstname.lastname@example.org).
I use eBay quite frequently. I recently had a bad experience. I wanted to post this NOT to be vindictive, but to warn others away from this seller if they happen to Google him. I’m putting this here as a record so that hopefully he won’t be able to do this to someone else. I don’t want anyone else to have to go through the hassle that I went through.
I won an item from eBay user knuc_larr (email: email@example.com, eBay profile: http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=knuc_larr&ftab=AllFeedback). After not receiving it (I waited over 2 weeks) I contacted him and he told me the following:
“I am not going to sell that [item] that cheap go ahead and get a refund from paypal, that is a $60 [item],the seller has the right to reject a bid,I never accepted your bid.”
Obviously, he either doesn’t know or care how eBay works. I won the auction. He did not set a reserve on the auction. He decided not to sell the item after I paid what he considered too low of a price. He was also being deliberately shady by not immediately refunding my money when I won the auction. If he had no plans to ship the item, why did he wait 2+ weeks for ME to contact HIM? Like I said: shady.
I would avoid doing business with him.
I’ve gone ahead and created a website for Andrew and our recruiting effort on his behalf. You can see it here:
I have links to his different profiles, videos, photos, listed accomplishments, etc. I’ve decided that if his goal is to play D1 football, this is the very least I can do to help him.
